Scottish Islands Peaks Yacht Race
18 May 2012
This adventure race is for teams of Sailors and Fell Runners (both adult and teenage) and is held annually on and around the most beautiful parts of the West Coast of Bonny Scotland.
The Race starts in Oban with a short hill run, then you Sail to Salen on Mull, run over Ben More, sail to Craighouse on Jura, run the Paps, Sail to Arran, run Goat Fell, then sail to Troon. The Race takes 2 to 3 Days and caters for Multihulls, Racers and Cruisers.
Each team consists of 5 (usually 2 runners and 3 sailors), there is also an allrounders class for sailors that can run and a class for young people (with the assistance of a few adults).

Yarmouth Old Gaffer Festival
25- 27 May 2012
During the Festival, Yarmouth's picturesque harbour will be filled with life and colour with more than 100 visiting traditional sailing, steam and motor vessels, including the cream of the Old Gaffers fleet. On shore there will be a huge range of attractions keeping the thousands of visitors entertained from morning til night all weekend.

Boat and Leisure Fest
4- 5 June 2012, Jubilee bank holiday
Cowes, Isle of Wight, The Free to attend festival is designed to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Among attractions for visitors will be a display of some of the finest British built yachts and motor boats, an exclusive preview of teams racing in the 2013 Cowes – Monte Carlo Powerboat Race, a parade of fashion, live music and a range of outdoor leisure activities and accessories for families to see, try and buy. Berthing will be available in Cowes Yacht Haven marina for visiting yachts, and visitors will benefit from special mainland ferry rates from Red Funnel.

Three Peaks Yacht Race,
16 June 2012
Teams of four or five per yacht sail from Barmouth to Fort William, with two of the crew climbing the highest mountains of Wales, England and Scotland en route, running the equivalent of three marathons in 3 or 4 days. Team members must be over 18 years old.

Round Mull Race,
6 -8 July 2012.
Organised by the Oban SC.

Round the Island Race,
30 Jun 2012.
Organised by the Island SC, 1500 yachts leave Cowes and head for the Needles and round the Isle of Wight.

Peel Traditional Boat Weekend
3- 5 August 2012.
Compass Pipelines Peel Tradition Boat Weekend 21st Birthday Celebrations.The parade of sail is the icing on the cake as boat owners take the opportunity to show off their vessels to full advantage against a backdrop of Peel Castle and the green Manx hills. Tanned gaffs are pulled taut and boats flash their keels as they
take full advantage of the wind and sea to add an element of friendly rivalry to the weekend which is celebrated at the prize presentation in the Sailing Club.
This year's event promises to be better than ever thanks to the support of sponsors
Compass Pipelines and the hard work of the dedicated committee. All entrants will receive a friendly welcome and be part of a memorable experience. To be a full entrant to PL12 boats will have to conform to one of these three boat types: Be traditional plank on frame construction, with planking mechanically fastenedto frame.
Set at least one four sided sail as part of her normal working rig. Be constructed entirely of wood.

2012 Olympics - Sailing Event Schedule
All Sailing Sessions will be between 1200 - 1800 daily subject to weather conditions.

Qualifying events will take place from 29th July - 4 Aug 2012  Entry Costs £35 on these days.

Medal Races and Victory Ceremony's will take place between 5 Aug - 11 Aug 2012  Entry Costs £55
